Who loves a good rainbow decoration, pattern or accessory? My daughters are obsessed with rainbows (and unicorns) and I consider it a perk to being a mom to girls. In fact, when my oldest was opening her presents on her fourth birthday she informed me she wanted a rainbow+unicorn themed party the following year. We don’t do birthday parties every year but she clearly understood she was getting one the next year on the big f-i-v-e. I didn’t hold too much stock into this conversation until months passed and she was still talking rainbows+unicorns. Being a frugal shopper this delighted me because I was able to pull the party off because of random clearance finds- at HomeGoods, TJMaxx and Target. Etsy helped a lot too.
You’ve probably noticed there is no shortage of rainbow inventory out there- either in a brick & mortar store or online. It was difficult to narrow it down, but here are just a few fun items any girl or gal young at heart would be thrilled to add to their space.
- Poloroid Camera Strap $5.87
- Watercolor Digital Download $4.90
- Rainbow Pillow
- Fiber Wall Hanging $185 – At Home with Ashley also has a great tutorial on how to make one if you’re crafty!
- Floral Bracelet
- Unicorn Piggy Bank and Rainbow Piggy Bank
- Wall Decals $89- comes in different sizes too!
- Dinner Napkins $46
- Rug/Runner $56+
- Mural $439+
- DIY Balloon Garland Kit $18+
As a bonus, here are some highlights from the birthday party (nearly 3 years ago!)- we hosted at a friends barn and it was a perfect backdrop. She even provided a white horse dressed up like a unicorn AND let us paint her with handprints…using tempera paint. It was a dream come true- even for me.
